1. Low carbon steel storage rack, its material is also commonly known as mild steel. The carbon content ranges from 0.10% to 0.30%. Low carbon steel is easy to accept various processing such as forging, welding and cutting. It is often used to make chains, rivets, bolts, and shafts. wait. Carbon steel with a carbon content of less than 0.25% is also called mild steel because of its low strength, low hardness and softness. It includes most ordinary carbon structural steel and some high-quality carbon structural steel. Most of them are used for engineering structural parts without heat treatment, and some are used for mechanical parts requiring wear resistance after carburizing and other heat treatments. Mild steel is a very hard and tough metal material. Mild steel is relatively low-cost, but its hardness is good, making it suitable for use as shelves and display racks in household or commercial areas.
2. Stainless steel storage racks. Common ones on the market include SUS304 stainless steel and SUS201 stainless steel. Stainless steel refers to steel that is resistant to corrosion by weakly corrosive media such as air, steam, and water and chemically corrosive media such as acids, alkali, and salts. It is also called stainless steel. Acid-resistant steel. Stainless steel has two aspects: stainless steel and corrosion-resistant steel, respectively called stainless steel and corrosion-resistant steel, collectively called stainless steel. General steel can be divided into:
a. Low carbon steel, usually C%<0.25%, is called low carbon steel, with lower strength, better plasticity and weldability.
b. Medium carbon steel, with C% between 0.25 and 0.60%, is called medium carbon steel. It has high strength, but poor plasticity and weldability.
c. High carbon steel, C%>0.60%, is called high carbon steel. The plasticity and weldability are very poor, but it will have high strength and hardness after heat treatment. The carbon content of high carbon steel is between 0.6% and 2%. If it exceeds 2%, it is cast iron. The standard of stainless steel is to contain Cr12 or more, so the Cr and Ni content respectively indicate whether it is resistant to rust and corrosion. It can also be divided into low-carbon and high-carbon. The main function of carbon in general steel is to increase the hardness. In stainless steel, it affects the intergranular corrosion performance, and of course it can also increase the hardness.
In short, the difference between low carbon steel and stainless steel mainly lies in their anti-rust and anti-corrosion capabilities; the anti-rust and anti-corrosion effects of stainless steel are much stronger than those of carbon steel, so stainless steel is more expensive than low carbon steel (except special steel). The quality of the material of the storage rack depends on choosing the appropriate steel according to the purpose, rather than simply based on the price of the steel.
Generally speaking, carbon steel is widely used in structural steel without rust-proof requirements, while stainless steel is a special-purpose steel used for general decoration and special rust-proof occasions. Due to the large cost difference between the two, stainless steel contains a variety of precious metals, so the price is generally several times higher than that of low carbon steel, but the strength of general stainless steel is lower.
